Hello Hatters,
I’m was at Whataburger eating a very late breakfast. I jammed with the older songs from the 1970’s. I was really tickled with the song by Chicago, “Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is?”
As a recent retiree, time is an ever changing concept. I can tell you the thing that I’m most impressed about time is to be ready. In the recent movie about a wannabe K-9 policeman, his instructor told him to “stay ready and you won’t have to get ready.” I like that statement and it is so applicable in every area of my life.
I want to be ready for helping others or meeting a need. As a writer who wears lots of hats, I’m also wired to write at a moment’s notice. I see things, I hear things, I find connections with relevance. So, just like now, I pull out my phone and write my notes.
I’ve stopped tinkering with the big cameras and continued to use my phone to capture my writing moments. It’s with me, so it’s always available to snap a picture.
In my faith walk, it is important to look heavenward. I know Jesus could return any day. Readiness of the heart is a focus for me with praise, prayer, and pause.
Yes, even a pause can help me get ready; it’s one of those paradoxes that intrigue me.
Time: does anyone really know the time? Time for what? Be ready. Maybe flexibility is the best component of it. I’ll need to practice that agility, as I’m used to a routine that is now gone. Many changes…
Until next TIME,
MT Penny
