Hello Hatters,

I was recently asked to speak to about 70 people about an experience from 2019. I asked if I could have a couple of days to think and pray about it. After ending the conversation, I realized that going back to that place to speak could bring up some pretty difficult feelings and memories. The time of the experience corresponded with the mourning of my mother's passing. I was really broken during that period of time. A twisted knot formed in my stomach as I realized the additional complication of time and place. I felt a heaviness.

I didn't want to make a snap decision, so I let it sit. The next day, I went to church. I felt extra tired that afternoon and so I decided to lie down and rest. It is not my nature to nap on Sunday afternoon. I know that it is a routine for many people, but this exhaustion was unusual. I went to my room, closed the door, laid down on my bed and instantly fell asleep. I slept hard. An hour and a half later, I woke up in the same position in which I had laid down. I rolled over on my back. The whole core of my body felt a message, "Go for the One!" I was groggy and did not understand.

Then I realized that the message was related to the request to speak. I knew I was supposed to accept this request and go. If I could make a difference in one person's life, it would be worth the effort. I felt a peace, dare I say it, an excitement. From one day to the next, I had moved from a feeling of dread to a feeling of having a mission, a calling. I had a message!

I went to the event and spoke. I was nervous but I shared my soul and my journey. It was very well received and I was greeted with gratitude and hugs afterwards. The speech was for a specific purpose for a particular crowd. In addition, I shared the message I received of, "Go for the One!" and I hope it resonated with them.

It is important to be authentic if you're meant to help others. I couldn’t fake this story and I'm happy to have been able to share my experience with the audience. I knew eventually, I would share it here in my blog. I am grateful to have received the message, "Go for the One!" I'll never forget it. If you were in the group that listened to me, I thank you. You know who you are.

I am convinced that my Lord intervened for me. He spoke to my spirit. He gave me a reason to take the chance and speak. I am a writer who wears many hats, just like you. On that day, I was wearing the hat of a messenger. It was a remarkable day.

In your own life of messages, I encourage you to share your story. You may never know the impact it will make on someone else’s life.

That's okay. Go. For. The. One.

Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,

MT
