Hello Hatters,
My washing machine went absolutely bonkers yesterday. It was over the top agitated. Towels…. I loaded them unevenly so the spin cycle got really loud with all of the banging. I ran into my utility room and stopped the washer long enough to straighten out the load. I had to laugh. It was the perfect picture for my mood. I was also uneven, agitated, and off my groove. Life throws curves and it is easy to get caught off balance. I’m thankful for signals that remind me that all is not well with my soul. Sometimes it’s difficult to get back on track, but I retraced my steps and figured out the situation that caused the unrest. My reaction on that circumstance did not warrant the emotional energy spent. I just needed a reminder to settle down. Just like my washing machine spinning off balance, I had to readjust my attitude to gain a sense of calm. I need peace. Don’t we all? I’m in a Zoom Bible Study with a book, A Life Beyond Amazing, by David Jeremiah. It talks about the Biblical Fruits of the Spirit. We’ve completed love, joy and peace so far. Yesterday’s episode was so far from peaceful that I had to remind myself that I am human and on a journey that does reveal my areas of weakness. I had to press into the teachings, put on some music, and get back to the work that is in my care. We all have work to do, people to love, emotions to carry, and trash to take out. I suppose that sums up the human walk. I believe the most valuable lessons learned/earned happen when we take time to figure out which is which. What should we carry carefully and what should we put away for peace’s sake? I’m a writer who wears many hats, just like you. I hope you make space to figure out what is worth the effort and what is not. Some things are beyond our control, especially in our current environment. Fortunately, there are still beautiful people, events, and emotions to experience in the midst of the turmoil. Find them, pursue them, and leave the agitation to the washing machine. Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzz, MT Penny
