Flounder is not a Flop

Hello Hatters,
In case you haven't noticed, I love words. I like stringing them together like a bead necklace. Sometimes I let the pattern flow and sometimes I have a basic plan. I've made jewelry for years and at times, I go at it with lots of energy and gusto and other times, I just do the basics. Like my jeweler hat, the path to blogging has been a series of wanderings with lots of stops and starts. Ever feel like you have a basic plan of following a dream but don't know where to start?
Me, too. I have done many different things and had lots of experiences which will be shared here but the main thing I want to share today is that I don't always know how to do something but the desire is there.
Yesterday, I had an opportunity to share my story with special people (you know who you are!) and one of my points was to just get started. That advice was given to me at a special event and now I want to pay it forward by saying it here. "JUST GET STARTED!"
A friend of mine showed me how to make jewelry over 30 years ago but I had to get the right tools. My Country Hubby got them for me as a gift and I still have them. Sometimes, I have to dust them off because I haven't used them in a while. There's no shame in dust but if I want to hone the skills of making jewelry (or writing), I have to keep at it.
I look back at the journey of jewelry making and I know that I floundered around a bit until I got the hang of it but the end product was never a flop. I just got better and better the more I pursued the hobby. Likewise, as I write more and more, God Willing, I will get better and better. I'm sure to flounder but I refuse to be a flop. Flop sounds more like stop and I'm not particularly fond of that sound or inaction.
Let us agree that a flounder is not a flop as long as we keep pursuing our goals. Right? What's your dream? What's your goal? I'm cheering for you.
Hugzzzzzzzzzzzz,
MT

This is a great reminder and one I need to hear more often. Thank you. Hugs right back. :)
