Human Road

Hello Hatters,
Country Hubby missed a call. A voice mail message was left and like many smart phones these days, the caller‘s message was transcribed for reading. I got the general jest of the message for a service call but just cracked up at the attempt to spell our address.
According to the message, we live on Human Road. Well, that’s one way to put it! So many people cannot pronounce our road and it is a very long one that travels way across the city. If you don’t live here, you probably wouldn’t know how the locals pronounce it either.
My hat for today is one of curiosity. Why do we have roads we cannot pronounce and drive on parkways and park in driveways? A question closer to home is why does my rescued dog try to dig out of our yard? This behavior is new for him. We’ve had him 5 months and provided for all his needs and showered him with love. His former life is a mystery except we know he suffered from cruelty and disease. I wonder what he desires out on “Human Road.”
Of course in this mental walk about, I turn the question to my own life. What does this human (me) long for out past “Human Road?” I work, I sing, I love, I worship, I grieve, I write, and yet, I also experience longings. Just like my rescued dog who wants out of the yard, I’m ready for the excitement of adventure.
Who isn’t?
Adventures take many forms. I’m grateful that the grandkids are coming this weekend. If I pay close attention, each moment will be a treasure to cherish. Maybe Rescue Dog will be happy to stay in the yard. Perhaps this human (me) will be content to reside on “Human Road.”
It’s all about perspective when wearing the curiosity hat. May contentment and reflection richly satisfy any longings so that I recognize I am truly blessed on “Human Street.”
How about you? Blessed? Content? Take time to be curious.
Hugzzzzzzzz,
MT
