Hello Hatters,

If you’ve read my posts before, you know that I write as one who wears many hats, just like you. The hat that comes to mind right now is one of flexibility. Things change “at the drop of a hat.” (Yes, I went there!)

Seriously, plans change, opinions change, relationships change and the weather changes, but I recently wrote about temperatures. I can‘t help but look at my featured photo of the weirdest tree I’ve ever seen and think about what this tree has experienced. If you study the tree, there are knots and growths in the strangest places. It is not a big tree but I find it beautiful and interesting.

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me would be able to state some scientific reasons for its condition. But if you know anything about my posts, you can bet your boots, I am more interested in the story of this tree. What has this tree endured? What can I learn from this gem from nature?

I believe without a doubt that this tree has been flexible in its lifetime. The test of time has left scars on its bark. The remarkable fact remains that it is still standing and still living, even if it is the strangest shaped tree I have ever seen. I like this tree and I’m glad I saw it.

We all have scars and we all have hurts. We can either become the victim or the victor. I for one believe that flexibility in the changes of life will determine that outcome. My newly found favorite “weird tree“ is a symbol of a weathering life, a beautiful life. Thankfully, this tree resides close to family members so I can check up on it periodically. I like finding inspiration in unusual places. Don’t you?

Hugzzzzzzzzzz,

MT
