Panoramic View

Hello Hatters,

I’m overwhelmed with all of the data connected to the worldwide pandemic. I’m saddened by the current climate of politics and the lack of respect for all lives. The hardship of the current events on families is beyond comprehension. Inspite of all the negativity, can I experience a life that uplifts my spirits and keeps me there? I’m talking about a view that is big. I’m thinking large, like the Grand Canyon. I want a vision of life that is so positive and so awesome that the strength of that vision is stronger than the negative world events. I’ve decided I need a panoramic view.

The only source of a vision that big is from my faith in God. Only He can overcome the diseases of the physical and only He can heal the emotional turmoil. I’ve been digging deep in my Bible for scriptures to hold close in my heart. In Jeremiah 17:7, it says “Blessed is the one who trust in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” I pointed out the small word that is purposely missing in that scripture to my Bible study friends. It doesn’t say to hope in the Lord, it says that blessed is the one ….. whose hope IS the Lord. May I embrace that truth today and tomorrow.

I’ve talked a lot lately about my core values and Hope is one of them. My hope is the Lord. Another core value of mine is intimacy. I’m talking about a closeness with my Lord, my family and my friends. Some people call this ‘quality time‘ as defined in the love languages book. Somehow there’s a connection between seeing the intimate yet experiencing the panoramic view. It is rather mind boggling to combine those seemingly different worlds. Is it possible to find the panoramic view in the intimate and vice versa? Is the little in the big and the big in the little?

This concept is very important to me because of my current family situation. My Country Hubby has given me a great big world of love and comfort and companionship. Within that world, there are many details. Currently, in the details of his life, he struggles with diseases that could take him at any time. That reality gives me a focus of what and who is really important. In my frankness with this post, I mean to inspire others to look at the big as small and the small as big. The details matter and so does the big picture. My focus right now is quality bigness with Country Hubby, but it takes the little details to make it happen. This ramble of mine makes sense to me and is perhaps confusing to you. I hope not. I share this journey in the hopes that my post will help someone take stock of their own eyesight. What is your big thing that needs attention and what little thing is really your whole view? Is there an adjustment needed?

I’m a writer who wears many hats just like you and you’ll have to bear with me as I walk through some of these days of questions, days of big and little. I’m different. You’re different. There’s big and small in us individually. As for me, I will focus on a panoramic view with lots of consuming details.

Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzz,

MT
