Rain, Lightning and Thunder

Hello Hatters,
Sleep was intermittent last night. A much needed rain poured down on our parched city. Thunder and lightning made their presence known. Electricity went off and sent things beeping in the home. Even my automatic vacuum started without my touch.
I'll have to be deliberate in my commute today. No speeding but rather a needing to watch for high water in low spots. Alternate routes checked and taken. Relief for the soil and trees and plants came at the sacrifice of sleep yet a consciousness of slowness as a welcome gift.
The pace of the race needs alteration and it's made necessary because of the storm. I'm wearing my careful commuter hat today. My car's brake will be my friend and I'll be extra vigilant to avoid the auto pilot mode. No automatic settings. Deliberate. Aware. Watching.
Shouldn't I be that way every day? What blessings are waiting for me today? What do I miss if I'm not in a heightened awareness on every other day? Sometimes we need a sleepless night to be awakened.
Take it easy out there, friends! Look around and see with fresh eyes.
Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,
MT
Trust you made it safely to your office. :) I had a meeting that was switched to a phone call. I was thankful that we were 2 cars not on the road this morning. Have a good day. Hugs back to you!
