Sopapillas?

Hello Hatter,
My dear friend came for a visit and brought dinner. What a treat! The best part of the meal was that we started with the dessert first! Wow! Let’s have warm sopapillas with honey at the beginning of every meal! As with most surprises in my life, I look for the deeper lessons. This blessing was no different.
How different would our perspective be if we started each day with the end in mind? Most people in leadership would probably engage in such a thought process when setting goals or strategically planning the future. Start your plan with the end in mind. Sounds great. But on a typical morning when we rise and “shine,” are we thinking about the end of the day? How would we go through the hours realizing at the close of the day, we’d be reflecting on our actions and attitudes? Mind you, I’m not talking about the notion of, “Wow! I can’t wait for this day to be over!”
How many times do I write about being deliberate or being more aware of the moments? There is a thirst in my soul to soak up the treasures in each hour. Too often, I find that I can’t identify anything extraordinary in my ordinary. I’m too tired. I’m too distracted. Sometimes I’ve been consumed with an incident that’s made me angry and the little treasures all around me slip through my fingers like sand on a beach. I was brought the gift of a meal, the gift of fellowship and the gift of a stir in my heart to experience today at the fullest. I’m grateful for warm sopapillas to again wake my conscience into seeing dessert before the meal. For today, I‘m hungry to feast on the events before me and the attitudes inside me so that my reflections tonight are safely tucked into my thirsty soul. My thankful friend hat is on and ready.... Today, what awaits for me and you?
Hugzzzzzzz!
